Successful Delivery

NORTH VANCOUVER - It took 18 months for Ramsay Machine Works to Build a massive shiploader and just over 24 hours to deliver it. The mega machine was hauled from Sidney beginning at 11:00 pm Monday and loaded onto a barge. It arrived at the Kinder Morgan Marine Terminal early Wednesday morning. Ontario-based EMS Tech was contracted to design, supply and deliver the structure in partnership with Ramsay Group of Sidney. The mechanical mammoth is designed to load mineral concentrates such as lead, zinc and copper onto marine vessels. The barge was towed to North Vancouver by a tug boat from North Arm Transportation. Several other companies were involved in the move including Vancouver-based Sea Business and Supreme Structural Transport out of Maple Ridge.
