SIDNEY - A huge machine used to load materials into marine vessels will soon be moved from Sidney to North Vancouver. Ramsay Group, a 107 year-old family-run business spent more than a year building the massive shiploader. The company says the contract kept 50 people employed for the past 18 months. Next week the 650 tonne machine will be loaded onto a barge and delivered to the Kinder Morgan Terminal in North Vancouver. It is the largest shiploader ever built by the company which has made a name for itself building big things. Kinder Morgan says the total cost of the shiploader including conveyors in North Vancouver and dock improvements cost is about $46 million. The machine is scheduled to begin delivering copper concentrate April 16th.
