The Selma Mansion located in Norristown, PA is one of the most historically important remaining structures of old Norristown located on the west end of town. Selma was built by Andrew Porter in 1794. Porter was a soldier during the American Revolutionary War as well as being one of the founders of the US Marine Corps. He was later appointed Surveyor General, helped lay out the borders of the commonwealth and attained the rank of general. The house is in severe need of repair and renovation and the Norristown Preservation Society is working to do just that. For more information, contact www.norristownpreservationsociety.org
