Here stromatolites, rock-like shapes formed by the worlds oldest living organisms, grow on barren sand, and 10000 dugongs graze in huge meadows of underwater grass. A close relative of the manatee, the dugong is strictly a marine creature; it is somewhat more tubular and has a fluke-like tail but, like its cousin, spends its days peacefully munching, surfacing only to breathe. Once hunted, the dugong is now protected but still threatened by entanglement in fishing gear. - L'Alcyone vogue vers Shark Bay(ou baie des requins), un site inscrit sur la liste du patrimoine mondial, où ses plongeurs explorent l'extraordinaire faune sous-marine. Ici, des stromatolites, des structures en forme de roches créées par les plus anciens organismes vivants au monde, poussent sur le sable nu et 10 000 dugongs broutent au milieu de gigantesques pâturages marins. Proche cousin du lamantin, le dugong est une créature strictement marine ; il est plus fuselé et possède une queue échancrée mais, comme son cousin, il passe paisiblement ses journées à mastiquer, remontant à la surface seulement pour respirer. Chassé autrefois, il fait maintenant partie des espèces protégées, mais il est toujours menacé par les filets et lignes de pêche dans lesquel il s'emmêle.

EV conversion, part 2, Honda C70 planning, Electric motor, controller, batteries, placement This is part 2 of the EV conversion of a 1981 Honda C70 motorcycle to a Evehicle, electric motorcycle. Initial selections of an electric motor, controller and batteries have been made and a probable placement has been determined. The exisitng throttle will be engineered or reengineered. The existing wiring and cable harness and routing will obviously be modified. A structure for the front battery, one of 2 12 V deep cycle marine batteries, will be designed.
