This video was recorded in Early 90s. ------------------------------------- The special forces within the Turkish Armed Forces are one of the finest among their counterparts throughout the world. Despite the fact that there are many other special operations commando units, such as the Mountain Commando Brigades, Gendarmerie Commandos and Marine Corps, within the Turkish Armed Forces, they do not fall under the definition/classification of modern day special forces. UNDERWATER ASSAULT TEAMS (Su Alti Taaruz - SAT) Their main tasks are: - Surveillance on enemy structures, facilities, defense systems or strategically relevant buildings. - Covert sabotage against naval units and/or enemy structures. - Covert landing and infiltration. - Reconnaissance on beaches being considered for amphibious landing operations. - Determining secure landing paths. - Underwater recon within 2.5 m deep water/beach corridors. - Direct action during first wave of landing missions. - Hostage/POW/downed pilot rescue. - Counter-terrorism missions. - Close Quarter Combat. Training and Duration: BUD/S: Indoctrination Period - 5 weeks Phase I (Basic conditioning + Hell Week) - 9 weeks Phase II (Diving) - 8 weeks Phase III (Land Warfare) - 9 weeks Post BUD/S: Airborne Training - 3 weeks Special Ops Technical Training - 2 weeks Medical Training - 30 weeks Platoon Training - 18 months OKK/MAK, SAS or SAT, every Special Operations mission needs absolute secrecy and stealth. Armed with an underwater camera, Darcy & Paris explore the Port River, in the Inner Harbour of Port Adelaide. Despite its history as an industrial area, there is abundant marine life to be seen. In the intertidal zone, mussels crowd the structures, but below the low tide mark, sponges, algae and fan worms grow prolifically. Also seen are bream, sea jellies and blue swimmer crabs. Pollution is obviously an issue. Sea life has encrusted old dumped items and now provides shelter for marine creatures, but snagged and discarded fishing lines represent an ever present threat. We expect more expeditions this Summer and look forward to days with clearer water (we know they are there!).
Avril 2010, The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest reef system composed of over 2900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2600 kilometres (1600 mi) over an area of approximately 344400 square kilometres (133000 sq mi). The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in north-east Australia. The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. This reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps. This reef supports a wide diversity of life, and was selected as a World Heritage Site in 1981. CNN labeled it one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Queensland National Trust named it a state icon of Queensland. A large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which helps to limit the impact of human use, such as fishing and tourism. Other environmental pressures on the reef and its ecosystem include runoff, climate change accompanied by mass coral bleaching, and cyclic population outbreaks of the crown-of-thorns starfish.
The products of some natural and human selection are all around us. People have transformed the wild crop profits from selective breeding. Selected Food pets and other domestic animals of very different sizes and shapes of their wild ancestors. Controlled genetic crosses can be used to identify and locate genes that may be applicable to artificial selection in domesticated species. Genetic crosses in maize and dog show, for example, that relatively few geneticThe changes are needed to radically change the shape and structure of plants and animals. can generate natural selection in wild populations as well as surprising diversity in a surprisingly short time. Ocean sticklebacks, for example, colonized rivers and freshwater lakes by several glaciers after the last ice age produced. differential survival and reproduction under natural selection have generated profound changes in morphology, physiology and behavior of fishadapted to different food sources, predators, and water conditions. How does the nature of converting a marine ancestors in various forms of water? Again, genetic studies suggest that major evolutionary changes are controlled by major genes. Further studies of these genes is a molecular picture of how plants and animals through artificial selection and natural have been converted. www.hhmi.org http
RUSSIAN TEAM OF DIVERS-EXPLORERS, LEAD BY ANDREY MAKAREVICH explores 80-100 feet high underwater man-made structure that composes a temple-pyramid YONAGUNI. This is the best underwater footage in existence so far that I came across with about the legendary site. ANDREW commenting their manmade discoveries in Russian (I did not translate footage with adding English subtitles-translation), but just watching the footage one would come to the realization of the presence of manmade artifacts and constructions, including THE HEAD. The site included a square-shaped structure covered with coral, a giant platform with edges and corners, as well as streets, stairways, and an arched building. One could say that the ruins resembled an ALTAR IN THE ANCIENT CITY. It covered about 200 meters from west to east, and about 140 meters from north to south. Its highest point reached about 26 meters. NOTE: The whole story started in 1986, when a diver near the island of Yonaguni Jima, off the southern tip of Japan (around Okinawa) came across some strange structures about 25 meters below sea level. They appeared to be stepped structures with terraces and ramps. One of the largest pyramid structures is 600 feet wide and 90 feet high with five separate levels of stone blocks with what appears to be road surrounding the structure. Tool marks and carvings have been discovered upon the stones (and documented) which indicate that they have were constructed rather than being natural stone structures ...

Over the last two decades, marine biologists have discovered lush forests of deep-sea corals and sponges growing on seamounts (underwater mountains) offshore of the California coast. It has generally been assumed that many of these animals live only on seamounts, and are found nowhere else. However, new research from MBARI shows that most seamount animals can also be found in other deep-sea areas. Seamounts, however, do support particularly large, dense clusters of these animals. These findings may help coastal managers protect seamounts from damage by human activities. For more information, see: MBARI news release: www.mbari.org CR McClain, L. Lundsten, M. Ream, JP Barry, A.
